Proven Track Record

Lesley serves as the chair of the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners and was elected to her second, four-year term in November 2022.

She has a proven track record on issues such as wildfire risk reduction, water conservation, housing affordability, public safety, the opioid epidemic, and early childhood education.

Lesley’s professional life has focused on what she loves most – helping people, solving complex problems, and giving back to our community.

She’s owned her own business, worked as an award-winning journalist, and led national and statewide initiatives as a senior executive in the private and non-profit sectors.

Governor Polis appointed Lesley to serve on the Colorado Fire Commission and she chairs the Gateway to the Rockies Regional Opioid Council, the Chatfield Watershed Authority, and serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Colorado Counties, Inc. in addition to other national, state, and local boards. She is the past president of Jeffco Public Schools Board of Education.

Distinguished Service

In 2023, Developmental Disabilities Resource Center recognized Jefferson County commissioners as Elected Officials of the Year. Readers of the Canyon Courier awarded Lesley with 2023 Best Government Official. The West Metro Chamber earlier named Lesley as one of Jefferson County’s most distinguished women leaders.

Family

Originally from Chicago, Lesley moved to Denver in 1989 after obtaining her master’s degree from the University of Illinois. Her family has called Jeffco home for 30 years. Lesley and her husband, Mike Feeley, chose to raise their daughter, Grace, in Jeffco because of its excellent schools and quality of life. Grace now attends college in San Francisco. Mike – a retired attorney and former Colorado Senate Minority Leader – was elected to the West Metro Fire Board in 2018. They live in south Jefferson County with their two rescue dogs, Peaches and Maisy.
